The RGB controller was completely separate from the balboa controls, only having a power output/toggle to the controller.

They usually have 2+ connectors and mine also had a Y cable for whatever reason. I built a custom PCB to carry an ESP32 with the appropriate connector and RS485 interface for the control panel connections on balboa control boards.
#BEST HOT TUB META SOFTWARE#
A sister to HA, ESPHome is a software that lets you easily connect incredibly cheap ESP Wifi modules to HA to do anything you could ever dream of. It is a universal home automation software/server that runs on a Raspberry Pi. I use Home Assistant for home automation. I'm an engineer so it's in my wheelhouse. You it's got two separate pumps and absolutely only use the jets on high for massage. I hurt my back recently and the jets are far more effective than pain killers so I just got in the tub 3 times a day instead of taking pills. The massage jets are just so effective at loosening my muscles. Overall I felt very much like you did previously but now that I actually own a quality tub all the other ones I use really pale in comparison. The touch controls are cool but don't really add much. The waterfall definitely adds some ambiance especially when the jets are off and is very aesthetically pleasing. It stays hot for so much longer on cold winter nights.

The varied jet configurations really work your back in different ways. The massage jets are just so much more powerful. The difference between our's and the one at the last cottage we stayed at is dramatic. I really love hot tubs and we'd always make sure to get cottages etc with them. I have a Coast Spa's luxury lounger from 2015.
